STRENGTH & CALISTHENICS Classes

We offer Strength and Conditioning, Small Group PT and Calisthenics at our Hoe St Studio.

Larger group strength classes incorporate weights and kettlebell exercises for all levels, including complete beginner, that work through an all body sequence to focus on building your strength and endurance. Small group PT is 6-8 people focusing on the key functional movements of hinge, squat, push, pull, unilateral and core. Come as a beginner, or as an experienced lifter, and we’ll go from there. We also have a full Calisthenics offer, both floor based and using equipment like rings, pullup bars, plyometric boxes and parallel bars.

Lifting weights and building muscle is crucial for building better bone density, and the mix of classes we offer here will make you stronger, more mobile and easier in your own body, as well as allowing you to progressively lift and meet the targets you set for yourself.

Calisthenics utilises push and pull and focuses on building strength in various planes of movement. Strengthening your scapular and back with bars and ring variations, chest and shoulders through a mixture of floor based training methods, alongside key gymnastics holds you’ll build muscle mass with core engagement meaning your entire body is working together. Choose from beginner, open or intermediate (at least 10 bodyweight pullups), a rings skills only class and a dedicated squats session. You don’t need experience or a certain level of strength to benefit. Come as you are and we will meet you there.

Please come to 3 Central Parade, Hoe St for all our strength classes. Please note there is no reception on site. If the door is closed on arrival, please go in and head downstairs to wait until the previous class has finished. The studio is open Monday to Sunday during scheduled classes only. When there are no classes or activities, the shutters will remain closed. Opening hours and access will be extended over the coming months.

Please wear suitable clothing, and leave your shoes downstairs. The gym floor is a barefoot space (or grip socks if you prefer), as this is better for resistance training, giving you better balance, stability and weight distribution. If you are new, please arrive early and speak to your teacher.
