Book a Class

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some Frequently asked questions:

  • Do I need to book in advance?

We advise booking online as online bookings take priority over walk-ins, however if there is space in the class we will accommodate you (and there usually is for weekday daytime classes).

  • When should I arrive?

Classes start promptly at the advertised time so please arrive in good time for your class but not more than 15 minutes before. We are sorry to say we cannot admit latecomers at this time.

We operate a 12 hour cancellation policy, so if you have pre-booked your class but your plans have changed, please cancel your class outside of the 12 hour window to avoid losing your credit. For members, the member cancellation policy applies.

  • I've never done yoga or Piates before. Where should I start?

If you are unsure about what class or level will work for you, please email or give us a call and we will be more than happy to talk you through what is on offer.

If you are a complete beginner, we offer yoga basics classes which are geared specifically for people who have never done yoga before.

We also offer low cost yoga classes for mums and babies, for toddlers and kids, for teens and pre-teens and for those who are either older, or with health concerns (gentle yoga). We offer 2 free chair yoga classes a week for people with limited mobility or any other health conditions that might stop them going to a mat based yoga class.

If you have never taken class at East of Eden before, why not take advantage of our 4 reformer Pilates or Barre Fit classes for £35 Studio 1 welcome offer, or our 20 day for £35 welcome offer for Studio 2? This gives you 20 consecutive days of unlimited classes in our yoga and Pilates studio so is a great chance to try everything and see what teachers and classes you like best. You can even try both, though to purchase the second one, please drop in or call us as we need to put it through manually.

We also offer a full livestream timetable if you can't get to the studio, and you can also check out our on demand platform at watch.eastofeden.uk

  • What should I wear

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in. The studios are all a shoe free zone and all classes are done barefoot, or with special exercise socks.

  • Do you provide mats?

We are not providing mats or props during the COVID-19 pandemic, however we sell a full range. If you have a membership, we can offer you mat and prop storage. Please ask.

  • Do you have showers and changing facilities?

We have 7 toilets, 4 showers and 6 individual changing cubicles between the 2 studios, all gender neutral. Showers and changing rooms are out of use currently due to COVID-19.

  • Where can I leave my bags?

We have space in all the benches throughout Studio 2 for bags, hooks in all the changing rooms and you can also leave valuables in Studio 2 itself.

  • What is your member cancellation policy?

    Studio 1 Member Cancellation Policy

    – 1 no-show or late cancellation per month – no penalty
    – Any additional no-shows/late cancellations will incur a charge of the full drop in fee. This must be paid before new bookings can be made
    – Any cancellations need to be made prior to the 12 hour cancellation window.
    – Please try to arrive on time (or call to let us know if running late) as if the class is full, we may give your spot away to someone waiting if you are not there on time.

Studio 2 Member/Intro Offer Cancellation Policy

    – Late cancellations within the 12 hour cancellation window incur a fine of the price of the full dropin fee. This must be paid before new bookings can be made.

  • Do you offer private Pilates or yoga sessions?

Sometimes, one on one time with your teacher can elevate your practice, or help you through a time of stress or injury. It can also be a good way to start for beginners.

    • Staggered classes to allow for cleaning inbetween classes.
    • Reduced capacity for classes - 15 in the yoga studio, and 7 in reformer.
    • Temperature checks for staff, teachers and customers upon arrival at the studio. If you have a temperature, you will be asked to go home and rest as per Government guidelines

    • One way system in and out of the building for both Studio 1 and Studio 2. Please follow the signs in place.
    • Hand sanitiser at all touch points. Please use upon arrival at the studio.
    • For the reformer studio, we will provide alcohol based cleaner and wipes we will ask you to thoroughly clean all touch points on your machine after the class. We will clean the room with a viral decontamination mist between each shift.
    • We have fresh air ventilation into all studios. Please do bring a warm jumper and socks for Studio 2 savasana, or if you are doing yin yoga, as we will be keeping a window open for fresh air, although the heating will also be on.
    • We will regularly clean and disinfect the bathrooms and touch points throughout the studios between every class.
    • No arrival before 15 mins before class start time, and no latecomers unfortunately.
    • Please arrive dressed for practice, and when you arrive, put your mat down on the designated spot, or head onto your allocated reformer bed. No wandering around the studio please.
    • Teachers will remain 2m away from students on the platform in Studio 2 and verbal adjustments only. No physical adjustments in reformer classes either, but teachers will give verbal direction to keep you safe.
    • If you aren’t able to get into your class as a result of the new limited capacity, please do consider online live streamed classes which are now a permanent part of the East of Eden offering. In person classes at the studio will also be live streamed, however we will not be showing shots of the people practising at the studio.
