Content and Community Manager

Job Specification

Walthamstow based yoga and Pilates studios require an experienced Content and Community Manager with marketing and content experience who is superb at driving engagement across many different channels including social media.

About You

You will have experience building strong online communities, who are engaged and excited including a network of brand advocates. You’ll have a passion for yoga and Pilates, with superb communication skills and impeccable English writing skills. You have experience in developing and managing engaging content, written, audio and video, and briefing graphical assets for campaigns to designers.

You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community. Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications. You will be a self starter and able to work independently

Salary commensurate with experience. You can be based wherever you like with occasional meetings in London. Role can be fulltime or part time, contract or permanent.

About East of Eden

East of Eden launched 5 years ago and employs 50 teachers and front of house staff to run their 2 physical studios offering 100+ yoga, mat pilates, reformer Pilates and barre classes. When the COVID lockdown hit, they were just finishing a 6 month build to add a 3rd studio space to be used for teacher trainings and workshops, plus 2 therapy rooms, a café, shop and new toilets and showers. The studio reopening March 9th and by March 19th was closed again, however by the they already had 85 classes a week online. The online studio is here to stay, and will be a pivotal element in the future of the studios. East of Eden also collaborates with a number of partners to offer yoga in different spaces, such as NHM, IWM, Barbican plus hosts live music and yoga events with artists such as Joe Goddard and Hinako Omori.

East of Eden employs 45 freelance teachers and a further 5 front of house staff including a reception manager. They will be hiring a café manager in Autumn 2020. This role doesn’t have to be based in Walthamstow – the right person can be based anywhere. You will report into the founder, and be required to come into London regularly for planning and update meetings.
