Art and Yoga For Ukraine

Like all of you, we have watched the events in the Ukraine in horror. War is always horrifying, wherever it is in the world, and this feels particularly close to home. We wanted to do something to support and to raise funds for some of the amazing charities working on the ground in the region.

We will be splitting all funds raised between Red Cross Ukraine, the UNFPA (who work with pre and post natal women in warzones and have set up in Ukraine), and Sunflowers For Peace.

Art

Over 30 artists have donated their work ranging from ceramics, paintings, prints, wall hangings, photography, illustration, linographs, lithographs and more. Their works will be available to buy at the cafe during the weekend and the following week. Once they are gone that’s it! We are really grateful to the artists that donated their work, time and energy to this project. Prices range from £55 to £200.

Yoga & Meditation

We are running the following yoga workshops. You can book in for free via our website and then we will send a PayPal link for donations. They will also be available via livestream, so if you’re abroad or simply not able to get to E17, you can still participate:

Saturday 19 March, 2.30pm - 4.30pm: Spring Awakening Workshop with James Cassidy - kundalini kriya, pranayama and an accessible hatha flow plus guided mantra

Sunday 20 March, 2.15pm - 3.15pm: Family Yoga with Faith King - special one off class for all the family

Sunday 20 March, 3.30pm - 5.30pm: Spring Cleaning Workshop with Eryck Brahmania - This workshop will be focused on removing stress which we often hold in the body physically or emotionally, to welcome in the season of Spring feeling restored and renewed. We will practice an authentic form of yoga called Adhyatmika krama (zero resistance exercises). This will boost metabolism and enable cell reparation, maintenance and rejuvenation in an EFFORTLESS way. The exercises learnt will help conserve energy and encourage flexibility. This practice is designed for EVERYONE and of all abilities.

12-1pm: an art & craft workshop for kids from the ages of 5-10 run by Perplextive
2-3.30: a poetry writing Poetry to Process run by the poet, actor and artist Milliespeaking
